Aging gray

An aging burglar was caught on a Ring doorbell video picking a Queens apartment lock, police said Thursday.

The gray-haired crook, believed to be between 60 and 70, got away with a cellphone and laptop and is being sought.

He broke into the apartment in a building near 86th Ave. and 143rd St. in Briarwood about noon Wednesday, cops said. He walked up to the third floor and was seen placing his ear against several doors in search of an empty apartment.

Video obtained by police shows the crook raising his face mask as he looks across the hallway, where a Ring doorbell is recording his every move. Police said he then picked the door's lock and stole the items from a bedroom.

Cops released surveillance images of the suspect Thursday and asked the public's help identifying him and tracking him down. He is described as about 6-foot-1 and 175 pound.
